Greyford Manufacturing

Cast, machined and inspected under one roof.

Greyford pours gray and ductile iron castings from 2 to 450 lb and machines them in the same building, so equipment makers and water utilities receive a finished, inspected part instead of a raw casting.

Foundry

Two green-sand molding lines and a pattern shop that has cut tooling for Ridgeline customers since 1962. Every heat is poured, numbered and checked before a single mold is filled.

General notes

  1. Alloys. Gray iron ASTM A48 Class 30 to 40; ductile iron ASTM A536 65-45-12 and 80-55-06.
  2. Weight range. 2 to 60 lb on the automatic flaskless line; up to 450 lb on the cope-and-drag line.
  3. Melt. Two 4-ton coreless induction furnaces, about 38 tons poured per day across two shifts.
  4. Chemistry. Spectrometer check on every heat before pouring. Heat number cast into each part.
  5. Tooling. Wood, urethane and aluminum match plates built and stored on site; customer patterns held at no charge.

Machining

Castings move from shakeout to the machine floor without leaving the building. That removes one freight leg, one receiving inspection and one supplier from your PPAP.

Detail A Scale 1:6

Agricultural equipment

Gearbox and PTO housings, wheel hubs and hydraulic manifold blocks for tractor, planter and combine makers across the Corn Belt.

Typical: 12–180 lb · 65-45-12 ductile · machined bores to ±.0005

Detail B: gate valve body casting with flanged ends

Detail B Scale 1:8

Water and wastewater utilities

Pump volutes, gate valve bodies, hydrant shoes and meter housings, hydrotested before they ship to municipal systems.

Typical: 8–450 lb · Class 35 gray or ductile · NSF/ANSI 61 coating available

Quality records

ISO 9001:2015 registered. First articles are ballooned, measured on the CMM and signed off before production release, the same way the drawing above is checked.

  • Chemistry on every heat, tensile and hardness per lot
  • First article inspection report with every new revision
  • PPAP Level 3 on request for automotive-grade programs
  • MTRs heat-numbered and shipped with every order
